Virtual Classroom

KMC has embarked on a custom Virtual Classroom (VC) project that will enable courses, classes or entire certification programs to be delivered electronically via live video, audio and chat conferencing, with support of collaboration groups, forums, wikis, static courses, performance support and web references.
As a part of the KMC the VC will permit complete integration of online courses with synchronous and asynchronous virtual learning to offer unique remote learning solutions.

With virtual classrooms, the KMC team is able to:

Preparing a Virtual Class
Class preparation involves the creation of a script for the live presentation, polls, surveys, questions to the audience, and evaluation. Additionally before the virtual class the trainer can create a list of pre requisites with podcasts, courses, performance support which are assigned to the learners days ahead of the class.

During a Virtual Class
Learners and instructors can interact using live video and audio, instant messaging and file sharing. The system allows the creation of documents and the collaboration of the entire group.

Instructor is able to create “breakout sessions” dividing the class in small groups that can collaborate creating documents, discussing a topic and return to the main classroom with a report of the discussion.

During a Live Virtual Class, the trainer is able to:
  • Share desktop, power point presentation, video
  • Show webcam
  • Show Electronic White Board
  • Push a poll and see the results instantly
  • Push a survey and see results instantly
  • Request a show of hands
  • Evaluate learners with quizzes and mastery tests
    • During assessments, instructor is able to view the webcam of each learner
    • While in assessment, the learner window is blocked preventing learner from browsing away from the mastery.
    • While in the mastery, a learner cannot interact with any other learners, only communication with instructor is allowed.
  • Interact with learners with one on one chat or room chat.
  • Create documents, request collaboration on documents and push them to Wiki for final tweaking or to be published.
  • Share files
  • Push links opening automatically a website window on the learner’s computer.
  • Create breakout sessions and monitor them.
  • Manage multiple screen options, layouts and permissions
  • Record Session
